Roger,
Your messages are very confusing for me because I sometimes forget about the
double message and when I want to reply to the list, I forget to check whether
I'm responding to the private message or the list message. So I respond to the
private message in error, and then I have to find my response in my sent
messages folder, and forward it to the list.
Outlook has a junk mail folder, but only messages that I've marked as junk
previously, i.e. the sender of those messages, is blocked. Any other blocking
of spam that may be done, is done without my knowledge by my ISP. So I don't
understand how messages from this list ended up in the junk folder. I never
mark a blind democracy message as junk. IF my ISP had defined it as spam, I
never would have seen it. It wouldn't have gotten to my junk folder at all.
However, Outlook and Optimum have been having some sort of technical conflict
for some time, or at least, they have in relation to this computer which I
acquired in the middle of January. No one, not Optimum which is barely
reachable and not especially responsive, nor Microsoft Disability, with which
I've been in contact three times, has completely solved whatever the problem
is. So this may be just one more iteration of it.
Miriam

Okay, that explains it. Well, it explains where the list messages have been
going, but it doesn't explain why they went there. Be sure to mark all of them
as not spam. Every now and then, when I think of it, I visit my spam folder and
I always find one or more emails that don't belong there. I am careful to not
delete them from my spam folder. That generates a spam report and teaches your
filters that they really are spam. I mark them as not spam and move them to my
in box. The reason you received that one message from me is because of some
gremlin work on myself. At a certain point in time any reply I made on a
Freelists message started going privately. That includes this list and both
Bookshare lists. I never did figure out why this was happening. So when I am
replying to a message in a Freelists group I started doing a reply to all. I
expect that means that you and others get duplicate messages from me, but I am
too lazy to visit the address fields to delete any extraneous addresses. I
figure that it is probably less trouble for the recipients to delete the extra
messages than it is for me to delete the extra addresses. So the reason you got
the reply this time is that it was probably the private copy.

and awe. Those afraid of the universe as it really is, those who pretend to
nonexistent knowledge and envision a Cosmos centered on human beings will

the world. But those with the courage to explore the weave and structure of the
Cosmos, even where it differs profoundly from their wishes and prejudices, will
penetrate its deepest mysteries.”

I just found a bunch of blind democracy messages in my junk folder. I
have no idea how they got blocked and sent there. I've just unblocked
the sender on one of them which, theoretically, should mean that the
list is now unblocked. I don't know how that one message of Roger's
got through to me, unless he sent that privately. I forgot to check.
Now we'll see what happens with this message. Will I receive a copy?
