I guess you and I have been brain washed by the Russians and that's why we find
RT very acceptable. At least, that would be the opinion of all these hysterical
Russia haters these days. On Truthdig, they posted a portion of a Ssunday
morning program from KPFK on which Robert Scheer was interviewed. Bob Scheer,
very smart, very much left of center, who always sounds reasonable on the audio
bits and pieces I've heard on the website and on his podcast, has just about
lost it. Perhaps he has an antipathy to the person who hosts the program, or
perhaps he couldn't abide the stereotypical assumptions behind the questions,
most of which had to do with the purported sinister connections between the
Trump campaign, Putin, and allegations that Russia interfered with the
election. So he was furious enough to be unable to answer the questions
because he had to point out all the unproven assumptions behind the questions.
He began listing all of the elections in other countries which our CIA
overturned since 1948. When the host began listing people in the Trump
administration who'd received money from Russian companies, he pointed out
which countries have given money to the Clinton Foundation, and on and on. The
host talked about the wealth of the people who Trump has appointed, and Scheer
began naming the Goldman Sacks people that Bill Clinton and Obama appointed. I
agree with him. Trump is horrible. The people who surround him are horrible.
But the Liberals and Progressives are choosing a terrible path for attempting
to remove him from the Presidency. They may end up causing a nuclear holocaust
in their attempts.

As far as I'm concerned, RT TV is as good listening quality as CNN or FOX. But
I only listen to Chris Hedges, Thom Hartman and Redacted Tonight. Sometimes I
run across an economist who broadcasts out of London...I never remember his
name, but he's a funny guy, and his straight man is a woman.

And the most amazing thing about RT is that people, almost everyone
who comments on it and defends its right to exist, says something
about its poor quality. I don't know a thing about its quality aside
from On Contact which is Chris Hedges' TV interview program, and I
think that not only are his interviews good, but the introductions
made by the RT commentator are also good. They seem a lot more
accurate than the commentators I hear on NPR. So what does that say about me,
or RT?

Miriam,
As the noose tightens around our free internet access,I fear that we
may eventually lose many of our reliable sources of information. I
also wonder how long RT-TV will continue being able to broadcast in
the Free Air of the good old US of A.

You know that I've been collecting podcasts on my second generation
stream.
Of the 200 listed on the stream in the category of news and current
events, there was something called Crone News, (which I downloaded
and which very occasionally has information about drone attacks and
the financing of drones and I think, comes from Great Britain), The
Pacifica Evening News, and The Real News Network podcasts. These are
the only alternative news sources listed. I found the rest, including
Democracy Now, by typing them in to a search. And I found a number
of them. But the other day on Flashpoints, Richard Bernstein played a
podcast from The Electronic Infitada. That's a Palestinian website
that gives news about Israel/Palestine. Today I did a search for it.
It isn't available. The Stream uses something called oo Tunes which,
I suppose, is a replica of I Tunes. I've also been unable to find The
Empire File with Abby Martin and they don't have the audio of RT's On
Contact. Very interesting since they have the audio from a whole
bunch of TV programs and Web TV. If I ever feel motivated, I'll look
for Clearing The Fog which is Margaret Flowers and someone, can't
remember offhand who. But apparently, the Russians and the
Palestinians are forbidden.
