RANV successfully activated Kill Kare and Burton Island State Parks yesterday.
We worked well over 200 contacts at Kill Kare, using one radio, one antenna,
and a handful of operators. Combined with a picnic, it was an enjoyable way to
spend a summer day.
It's time for CVARC to pick a date and active one of our local state parks. Who
is interested in joining us and operating? We'll take care of the antennas,
radios, power, and everything else radio-related. You just need to commit to
coming and spend some time at the radio operating.
If you don't have a General or Extra, no problem; we'll assign a control op to
help you out and give you some time on HF!
Please send me an email if you are interested, and what weekend dates you are
available to operate. We are thinking of activating Allis State Park.
