Creative Writing

The
Women’s Branch is very happy to present a workshop on creative writing with
guest speaker Mark Enston, author and English Lecturer. Mark will discuss
starting and completing a story and expound strategies on targeting publishers
and improving your chances in writing competitions.

Mark
is very happy for willing participants to bring along short samples of their
writing (around 300 words), which may be read out during the workshop for
analysis.
All genres are welcome - try to shock us all! There will be time questions and
answers. We invite interested people and all writing tragics to come along!

Seeking Success in
Employment & Education

Employment
and education for people who are blind or vision impaired - the statistics tell
an uninspiring story. But what can we do – as individuals and as a group - to
improve our career prospects?

There
are more inspiring stories to be told! Our panel of four will share some of the
challenges and opportunities they have met along the way to securing their
current jobs. Our panellists will also talk about job satisfaction and the
benefits of working or studying for people who are blind or vision impaired.
All workshop participants are welcome to take part in the discussion, ask
questions, raise concerns and share their own experiences.

Our
panel discussion, facilitated by Deanne Ferris, will include -
