Invitation to attend roundtable on women and children with disabilities

        8th August 2012, 2 – 4 pm at Plan

        Dear All,

There are two key UN events directly relating to disability being held
in New York this September:

        · The Fifth Conference of States Parties to the CRPD. This year
the theme is ‘Making the CRPD count for women and children’. 12-14 September

        · UNICEF Forum on the Global Partnership on Children with
Disabilities. 14-15 September

Please see programs to both events attached.

In preparation for these events, we are holding an informal roundtable
on the 8th August 2012 at 2-4 pm (see details below). The purpose of the
roundtable is to give you an opportunity to have a voice at these events if you
are unable to attend, as well as assisting Christine and I to be better able to
represent a collective of ANGOs.

We invite all those that are attending the events as well as anyone
that would like to contribute to the discussion, particularly agencies that are
child/gender/disability-focused. In preparation for the meeting if you could
please consider: for your organisation, what are the key successes,
opportunities and challenges in relation to children and women with
disabilities. No presentations required as it will be an informal meetings.
There is also a focus on the post-2015 agenda, so any contributions here are
also appreciated. If you are unable to attend the roundtable, please feel free
to email me with your contributions.

For those attending the events in NY, if you could please stay for an
extra 30 mins until 4.30 to discuss coordination.

        Kind Regards

        Megan Tucker and Christine Walton
