Dear library members,
We need your help!
Each year Eftpos support a charitable cause by donating a percentage of the
money they make from customer transactions over the Christmas period. Their
aim (which they met last year) was to raise $1 million dollars for their
charity partner. Imagine what a difference it will make for people who are
blind or have low vision if we were to be chosen as this year's cause!
Closing date for voting is midnight tomorrow Saturday, 21st July. So if you
haven’t voted yet, please take a moment to do so. And if you tweet or facebook,
please invite your friends and family to vote too!

Television comes to life
Yesterday, Senator Conroy announced ABC1 will trial audio described television,
beginning next month. “This is a step forward in terms of creating equal
access to television for Australians who are blind or have low vision,” said
Mr. Michael Simpson, General Manager Accessible Information Solutions, Vision
Australia. “We applaud the Minister and ABC1 for taking the lead on this”

Belvoir Theatre Company will be staging an audio described performance of
“Private Lives” at the Belvoir St Theatre on Saturday 27th October 2012 at
2.00pm. To book, phone 02 9699 3444.
For those of you interested in theatre, you might like to try some of the plays
we have on DAISY. As well as the classic Greek tragedies and the plays of
Shakespeare, we have a number of more modern titles such as
