The 2011-12 Regional Telecommunications Independent Review Committee is coming 
to Mildura and Berri in Vic this week then Launceston and Burnie in Tas and 
Gladstone, Townsville and Mt Isa in Qld next week. We hope you are able to join 
us and inform the committee of your experience if you live in these areas.
 
 
The committee is reviewing telecommunications services in regional, rural and 
remote parts of Australia and will report its findings to the Australian 
Government in March 2012.

Information on how to make a submission is here.  The committee is keen to 
learn from the experiences of consumers, businesses, agencies and organisations 
and is interested in:
 
 
opportunities that the National Broadband Network creates for the digital 
economy 
tele-health and education
communications needs of Indigenous Australians—particularly those that live in 
rural and remote communities
developments in the terrestrial and satellite mobile phone sector
consumer concerns of people and businesses in regional, rural and remote 
Australia.
 

 
We hope to inform all interested businesses, groups and individuals of this 
regional review and we would be grateful for your assistance in forwarding this 
information to your contacts.
