My Leadership Matters program

What is a mentor? A mentor is a person with extensive experience. They can
offer guidance, advice and assistance in relation to the course, and look at
how it is affecting you, what you are learning and the things you are thinking
about.

Why do we work with a mentor? To support your learning in the My Leadership
Matters Program and help you to practice everything you have learnt in your own
life and community. They can help you to think about things and give
suggestions about how you might try something different. You will meet with
your mentor 3 times as part of the program.

Who are the mentors? All mentors that have been selected to work with emerging
leaders are:
a.. Local leaders from the community
b.. Interested in building the participants' leadership skills
c.. Have skills and knowledge that will support learning in the program
d.. A good match with participant interests and goals
What is Become A Leader?
a.. A way to gain skills for leading your own life and/or become a leader in
your community
