      Scott Sheppard - Chief Executive Officer - Able Australia receives an 
award - DISABILITY PROFESSIONALS VICTORIA Fellowship  

     
     


      Congratulations to Scott Sheppard of Able Australia who was awarded 
DISABILITY PROFESSIONALS VICTORIA Fellowship at the conference cocktail party 
on Thursday 13th June.

      Scott is well-known and well-respected throughout the disability sector 
from many years of service, in particular executive officer roles at 
UnitingCare Community Options and Wallara Australia, and now at as new Chief 
Executive Officer, Able Australia.

      Scott has an extensive history of involvement in the disability sector, 
with a committment to making a positive difference in the lives of people 
affected by disability. His involvements also include:

        a.. National Disability Services Victorian State Committee Member 
(former Chairman and National Director) 
        b.. National Disability Insurance Scheme Victorian Campaign Taskforce 
Chairman 
        c.. Victoria & Tasmania UnitingCare CEO Forum Chairman 
        d.. Ministerial appointment to Disability Services Board of Victoria 
(second term) and Chairman of the Data Collection and Reporting Task Group that 
developed a web based complaints data management and reporting tool 
        e.. Conference presenter on papers including Respond, Influence and 
Shape the Future, Developing and Implementing "Standards", Modernising an 
Organisation for the 21st Century and Partnerships, Measuring outcomes for 
individuals in a Quality Framework, and current best practices. 
        f.. A founding member of Disability Professionals Victoria; Disability 
Professional of the Year 2008 
        g.. Cardinia Primary School Council President 
        h.. Former Kooweerup Regional Health Service (incorporating Aged Care 
Facilities) Board Director 
        i.. Harvard Fellowship Strategic Perspectives in Non Profit Management
