-------- Original Message -------- Subject: ETAI Conference in Beer Sheva From: ETAI <etai05@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To all ETNIers, The year 2006 began with a bang in Beer Sheva, as hundreds of teachers and students assembled for the ETAI Winter Conference. Kudos go to Dr. Riva Levenchuk and Dr. Inessa Roe, who worked so hard putting together a very well-organized and enjoyable event. Educators came from all over the country to give presentations and to listen to their colleagues. One of the highlights was the plenary address delivered by Prof. David Ian Hanauer on the topic, "Teaching Culture in the Age of Supermodernity." His talk was very well received, and gave the audience much food for thought. Another presenter who came from abroad was Gunther Volk, a teacher trainer from Germany, whose workshop provided participants with a different approach to teaching the Holocaust by utilizing contemporary plays, film and documentaries. If you were unable to make it to Beer Sheva, take comfort in the knowledge that ETAI will be organizing a Spring Conference in Tel Aviv, scheduled for Tuesday, April 4, 2006. SAVE THAT DATE!!
