-------- Original Message -------- Subject: MA Programs From: "Lindsey Gutt" <lindsey@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> I would like to suggest those of you doing your MA through a university other than one in Israel - be extremely careful. Before starting mine through Loughborough University in England in 1997 I contacted the Ministry of Education to ask if they accepted MA's from this university " I received an answer that they do. I then went ahead and did my MA " paying for it myself. This was a course that you studied there in the summer and then wrote papers during the year through correspondence over a period of 3 years. Upon completion in 2000 I happily handed my MA degree into the ministry and eagerly waited a 5% increase on my salary as promised. The ministry then refused to accept this MA. I still have the letter where they said they would accept it " and believe me I have contacted every one from Judy Steiner to Limor Livnat " but I am just brushed off with a simple letter stating that at this time it is not being accepted. The weird thing is that a friend who did the program with me and completed it a year before the Head of the Histadrut bought his MA " her MA was accepted. I wonder what 5 years of 5% added to my salary is worth&.
