Hi All,
I'd like to remind folks here that when I started teaching, back in the
"Stone Age", there was no 3 point exam! (unless my white hair defies me and
I'm mistaken). True, things were different then, in more ways than one!
With "Bagrut for Everyone", 3 points opened the door to those who couldn't
manage 4. For example, many colleges were willing to accept 3 point English
graduates.
In the past few years there have been many calls, on the part of the
Ministry, to cancel the 3 point exam. I was privy to such a discussion on
the topic, and was asked to make sure all kids took the 4 point exam as 3
points is worthless. There's something to that but I think we need an
official written statement from our Inspectorate on this issue.
