Subject: As for HOTS, why insist on students learning this new
gobbledy-gook?

Dear Everyone,

As I teach my students - there is never ever just one truth. Each of us
sees his or her own truth depending on the facts and and/or the false facts
s/he has collected. However, we should try to sort them out and it is a
fact that HOTS is no new gobbledy-gook. If you Google the term - Higher
Order Thinking Skills - together with education you will find hundreds of
sites explaining how to use HOTS in the classroom, many of which will tell
you that HOTS is based on the publication of Blooms Taxonomy from 1956.
You may believe it is gobbledy-gook (I love that expression!) but it has
definitely been around for many years.

Enjoy life,
Patricia
