We're counting down to the ETAI Summer Conference in Jerusalem on July 6-7th, at Himmelfarb High School. If you are an ETAI member, you have the right to pre-register for the conference, at a lower fee. The time to do so is IMMEDIATELY, as our original deadline was June 10th, but we'll give everyone another few days to mail their yellow pre-registration form and check to the office. The prices are as follows for both days of the conference: (Prices can be found on the announcement on "The ETNI Advertisement Board" at - http://www.etni.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1533 ) Please write your checks to ETAI, and they need to have the current date. If you are not an ETAI member, you can register for the conference at the door. Here are the prices for both days: (Prices can be found on the announcement on "The ETNI Advertisement Board" at - http://www.etni.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1533 ) We are now finalizing the conference program, but you can see the Preliminary Program on our website: www.etni.org.il/etai/ This year the opening plenary speaker is Prof. Ramon Lewis from Latrobe University in Australia. He is well known to ETAI summer conference participants, as he presented a number of years ago, and was very well received. Prof. Lewis deals with the relationships between students and teachers, and classroom management is his area of expertise. In addition to his opening talk, he will be leading two 90 minute workshops during the conference. The three keynote speakers at the conference are the following: Elisheva Barkon, "Bark on about Reading Fluency" Yirmi Stavisky, "Pluralistic Religious Education: Is It Possible?" Maryln Appelbaum, "49 Ways to Handle Hard-to-Handle Students" Dr Judy Steiner will be speaking on the topic, "The New Literature Program: What, When, Why and How". There will be approximately 50 other presenters, whose talks will cover a wide spectrum, addressing the conference theme, "Diversity in the Classroom". Special events will include a jazz concert, a film, and two different roundtable discussions. As always, over twenty publishers, booksellers and exhibitors of educational materials will be on hand both days to display their wares. Those needing overnight accommodations should call the ETAI office for information, or contact us by e-mail. Be sure to include the ETAI Summer Conference in your summer plans!! Looking forward to seeing you there, Marna Snyder ETAI Office Director Tel: 02-500-1844 mailto:etaioffice@xxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------- ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org or - http://www.etni.org.il ** ** for help - ask@xxxxxxxx ** ** to post to this list - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** -----------------------------------------------
