We are English teachers, not computer technicians. And yes, I'm one of those non-tech people." ME TOO :) I am good at p.c. schools but know zilch about burning discs; i-pods; etc. There is a limit to exactly how much we should be expected to do in any case! As I own one of the endangered species-- an old digital first rate walkman, I have the pupils give me an empty tape on which I record ; on test day they bring their own NEW batteries and earphones. Thankfully, I've never had to do this for more than one pupil per hakbatza. I am convinced that this is because not only do we not have 40 pupils in each class, but mainly because in our area parents find it extremely difficult to fund an "ivchun," and usually do so when WE the school tell them they simply must. I wonder if those teachers that have many (some said too many) LD pupils live in central Israel.... where parents' salaries are on the top percentages of the payment scale. (Yes, I know there are places like Yaffo and southern Tel Aviv which are poor areas, but I mean the OTHER central Israeli cities.) Last week we all witnessed once again the increasing difference between the 2 "Israels" when it comes to being entitled to a teudat Bagrut. La di da, talk is cheap; I wonder when anything concrete will be done to improve the situation. Probably the same time the world starts loving Israel :) Esther Revivo Ulpanat Tzvia Sedot Negev ----------------------------------------------- ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org or - http://www.etni.org.il ** ** for help - ask@xxxxxxxx ** ** to post to this list - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** -----------------------------------------------
