Nina hts the nail on the head every time, and to continue the metaphors,
calls a spade a spade! I am horrified at those adminstrators who are
intimidating teachers inthe field, who have enough intimidation to put up
with, not to speak of physical violence, from pupils, head teachers, and
parents.
And let the administrators, who are so proud of their programs, tell us if
the standard of English is going up in the country. Ask the universities.
Most improvement seems to be due to the influence of T.V. computers, and
general exposure. But that doesn't work for all students, by any means.
And all of them need to get back to basics, but the teachers don't have time
to deal with that; they are too busy trying to keep up with unrealistic
demands.
