Hi everyone who reads this,
In reply to Kobi re the Bagrut Listening on the radio - Kobi, you have just
vocalized (over the net, as it were) my precise sentiments.Last summer, I
wanted to write the selfsame words! There were just too many other issues
going on at the time and this important one got pushed to the back of the
pile. However, now I feel I MUST reiterate your words in a fervent plea to
the Ministry. In the words of the famous, old song:
PLEASE RELEASE US - LET US GO - FROM THAT G-DDAMNED RADIO !
and authorize the cassette or better still, CD recording of the Bagrut
Listening this summer.

I carefully read all that is being said here on the net since

The listening comprehension on the radio... I truly don't understand why after so many years (and I still remember my English teacher looking frantically for tapes on the day of my English bagrut back in the early 80's) we still have to be so worried for not finding Reshet Gimel or Aleph as it always happens in one of my classes when one of the many local stations disturb that exact channel - I was wondering why if we are trusted to test our students orally (by another teacher of course) and give the correct tapes to the LD students and other responsibilities that we so well do - why are we not trusted to give the listening comprehension from a tape (which comes to our school anyhow) where the quality will be much better and no stress involved... I really think that it is high time we move forward from this really ancient way of transmiting the listening or maybe I'm missing something really important here??
