We all know that "on" is used for a particular day
so I have never used it for Succot or Hanuka (for these I would use "at" as they are periods of time like "at the weekend") . It sounds more correct to use
"on" only for those holidays that are particular
days like "on Yom Haatzmaut" as they say back home "on Christmas day/New Year's Eve".
There is a bit of a problem with the Jewish holidays
as even if we have them for 24 hours they always start the evening before but I still have no problem with "on Yom Kippur".
We usually say "On Sukkot..." or "On Chanukah.."...... when ,if ever, can you say, "At Chanukah..." PLease help solve a "friendly" debate
