Relli Sakheim got in before I had time to write, and I'm sure she expressed
it better than I could. I too feel that teachers are not exposed to more
modern literature, and are, in any case, too scared to try, when faced with
applying HOTS to something new. Furthermore, since teachers are paid a
pittance, I expect many just feel that it's not worth the effort.
Relli also raised the rather frightening fact that most of the literature,
not to mention the syllabus, seems to be dictated to us by the publishers,
with the Ministry just following in their footsteps.
