Subject: Poster presentation at EATI / Good luck!
I encourage teachers to go meet and hear teenage author Shifra Shomron
speak about her novel in the ETAI conference Poster Presentation
called "Teenager's Voice- Grains Of Sand The Fall Of Neve Dekalim" on
July 13th, 13:15- 14:00, room A2.
I liked reading her book "Grains Of Sand The Fall Of Neve Dekalim"
very much. It lets the reader see the pre-Expulsion period through the
eyes of a teenager. The descritptive writing is vivid yet easy enough
for non-English speakers to enjoy. Every year I read a portion of it
with my pupils, who have a lively debate about the story; the feelings
expressed therein and the consequences we now bear here in Otef Azza.
No matter what your political affiliation, this is a painful part of
our country's history; painful for the soldiers who were following
orders, and horrific for those who made their homes in Gush Katif.
