Teaching is not an easy job
ODE/OWED TO A TEACHER

Every day I have more work, with hardly any rest.
Where’s my time for family or doing what I like best?
At my desk in my room, that’s where I can be found
correcting spelling, punctuation and tenses
till my head’s spinning around
from all the mistakes in their essays. I see no end to this chore,
because as soon as I finish one batch, other students have turned in more.
Yet as the year progresses, I see they are writing better.
What’s this I find? They can now write a decent formal letter!
They’re using connectors correctly and punctuation’s no longer a chore.
I’m finally reaping the rewards of all my hard work.
Believe me, being a teacher:
deserves an encore!
I should get paid more!
is what I was born for!

Yes, a teacher is owed more respect [and more money would be nice too]
Teaching English is not an easy job……. but it’s the one thing I want to do!
