May we have quiet; no more rocketing, and may G-d watch over our boys in harms way. That said, I wish to bring up a concern that I'm certain many here in the south share with me: Lost hours and the upcoming winter bagrut exams. Since the beginning of the year many schools like ours have lost days due to instructions from 'pikud ha'oref'' to close school. We all know how many hours fall in a regular school year what with yud bet pupils investigating options for army service and sherut leumi . Meanwhile younger pupils (yud / yud aleph) in all our schools miss lessons due to outings; lectures; volunteer work; etc. Putting off exams until the summer is not a viable option with weak and or LD pupils especially when the original plan was one module in winter and another in summer!! I just sent out a letter to the 'powers at be' asking the MOE to begin considering hakalot for our pupils for the upcoming winter bagrut. If you have a piddling 4 weekly hours like we do at our Ulpana, I'm certain that you are already feeling the stress to make it to the finish line prepared. Hence I ask you to consider requesting hakalot for your pupils. By the way, in the midst of writing this missive, I had to go to our safe area twice (we have no mamad) due to another 2 sirens and rockets. May we hear besorot tovot and achieve the quiet that we all so very truly deserve. Sincerely, Esther Revivo Ulpanat Tzvia Sedot Negev ************************************** ** Join ETNI on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/31737970668/ ** ETNI Blog and Poll http://ask-etni.blogspot.co.il/ ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org ** post to ETNI List - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** help - ask@xxxxxxxx ***************************************
