Dear Iris, See my responses in CAPS the body of the email: The four pointers of next year's 10th grade won't be able to take D and will have to do the Literature program. RIGHT For this year's 10th graders, Hots is not compulsory. RIGHT The five pointers who will be taking the exam are exempt (for the next three years) from specifically teaching Hots. Moreover, they will have a choice between the justification question and a general content question on the external exam RIGHT BUT..... THE GENERAL QUESTIONS INCLUDE HOTS IN THEM - YOU CAN SEE THE EXAM THAT WAS GIVEN LAST MONTH ON THE TLC SITE. IF YOU TEACH THEM THE HOTS, THEY CAN CHOOSE WHICH QUESTIONS TO ANSWER, AND THEY WILL DO BETTER ON THE NON-HOTS JUSTIFICATION, I BELIEVE. IF YOU DO NOT TEACH THEM THE HOTS THEY ARE STUCK ANSWERING THE NON-JUSTIFICATION QUESTIONS The five pointers taking the exam should be taught according to the key components of teaching literature, however, they do not need to keep and save their work in a log. YES BUT..... HOW ARE THEY GOING TO REVIEW FOR THE EXAM? There are only 6 compulsory Hots to be taught. (the teachers' choice from the list) YES AND NO - 6 COMPULSORY HOTS BUT THEY HAVE BEEN CHOSEN FOR YOU - SEE THE UPDATED HANDBOOK ON THE TLC SITE: tlc.cet.ac.il THERE IS A BUTTON ON THE HOMEPAGE FOR THE HANDBOOK. BEST OF LCUK ADELE Let me know if I have understood correctly. All the best Iris.
