Dear List,
I had the pleasure of actually writing materials for this exam. I now
know much more than I want to about what can go wrong during a flight!
The idea is that pilots all know the specific phrases for
communication when evrything is running normally - otherwise they cant
get thier license in the first place. The problems begin when
something out of the ordinary ccurs and their has to be free speech.
Pilots all over ther world have to take this exam and I am amazed that
the Israelis think they can get away with not doing it. This is
chutzpah of the 'not-so-smart' kind. What's really funny, is that
Israeli commercial pilots know Enlish better than most, and will
probably all do very well in the test. The pilots who came to the
first testing session (before they decided to boycott it) did very
well......
