"Think of the phrase "a friend of MINE."

We don't say "a friend of ME.

.Rather, we use the possessive pronoun, "mine"

We end up using a double possessive form- "of," and   "'s,"  although I

think the language is changing and the first phrase, "a friend of Lenny" is
becoming more widespread.
