---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Judy Givati <jesg50@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: summer literature exam I agree with whoever recently said that teachers who choose the exam over the log are at risk of lowering the students' overall BAgrut final grade. Whatever happened to the notion that "if most of the grades are low then the problem is with the exam." I've heard tell (no, not a rumor!!) that the teachers are being blamed because we're not teaching accordint to the rubics the markers are using. What the __________ does that mean? AS far as I remember there weren't any rubics even written (Winter Exam) until after the "tidruk" which took place following the exam. Why does the expression " being railroaded" (toward the log) come to mind?? Is this what English has become? ..My students used to love the literature our staff taught anad the creative atmosphere in which it was taught. Now it's become a chore based on mostly uninspiring pieces. (And frankly, dear, I don't think a whole staff became "uninspiring" in the space of a year! ) jesg ************************************** ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org ** post to list - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** help - ask@xxxxxxxx ** David Lloyd: ETNI founder & manager http://david.greenlloyd.com ***************************************
