Ruth Baratz's Ready to Speak (Kernerman Publishing, 1986) has
suggestions for descriptive speech, which
can be adapted to writing. Reading and Writing Targets 1 by Virginia
Evans (Express publishing) is geared
for beginners. According to the blurb: it offers texts to be used as
models/grammar as well as vocabulary work /and writing tips with
paragraph plans for "step by step guidance".
