If you are looking for an equivalent of what Geocities used to offer (i.e. a general service of free hosting for your website), I suggest you have a look at www.frihost.com (there may be others but this is the one that caught my attention a couple of months ago when I checked out options, and I am very happy with it so far). Note that in order to open and keep an account there you will have to be active on the platform's forums (it's actually ok). Of course, those who want to use that option to upload material need to know at least the html basics (and up, depending on the website they would like to have). This means that if there is a dedicated website for teachers to upload material (and I would not be surprised if there were several actually - think of all those websites where we find useful material), then it's great because it means you do not have to learn website construction to keep your material on the net (but Jack will probably agree you miss part of the fun). Jack: I believe you can dowload your whole website in one batch (perhaps in the form of a "backup", or there might be a special functionality in Filezilla or others) and then upload it on your new hosting plan.
