Greetings, all! First of all, if my borrowed laptop just sent out a half-baked message, please forgive me. Renee, thank you so much for pointing out the document about gmul for working with LDs. I went to it and actually understood the Hebrew. (I had assumed that it would be in all legalese jargon, which is hard enough in English, let alone Hebrew). As a result, I have two basic questions: 1. What about all the extra time we spend reading texts and questions on to tapes and then making enough copies of these tapes for the students who legally need them. (I'm speaking about normal class-room tapes as well as the exam tapes.) I didn't see this extra work, which many of us do quite often, on the table in the document or in the text. 2. How do we actually go about getting the gmul? Do we keep a record of how much time we spent doing the various tasks (as you indicated in a previous post) and then present the list to our principals? When do we do this? (Even though this increases our bureaucratic duties, I guess this will be worth it.) For your information, here again is the link to the wording of the agreement that the Irgun signed with the Ministry. If you can, you really should read the whole thing, but if you're only interested in the part of LD, it's about a third of the way down (number 2, just above the 2nd table). The link (thank you Sara Gabai) is: http://cms.education.gov.il/EducationCMS/Units/Sherut/Chozrim/ChozreiSt/hozertashsat4_heskem_im_irdunhamorim.htm I have no authority to answer your questions, but I will be happy to collect them and try to bring them to the attention of Mr Erez. But the best thing for you to do is to contact the Irgun yourself (Sandy had a great idea - to submit a collective letter from all the teachers in your school - not only English) , preferably by fax so that you have a written record, and follow up with a phone call. NOW's the time, so that the Irgun can plan its strategy towards the opening of the new school year. telephones, faxes etc: (from http://www.irgun-hamorim.org.il/odot.asp?t=3&s=1) phone # of the irgun office 03-7106777 fax 03-5667704 ran's secretary - lilach - phone # 03-7106756 her email lilachm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------- ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org or - http://www.etni.org.il ** ** for help - ask@xxxxxxxx ** ** to post to this list - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** -----------------------------------------------
