Marlene, "us oldies" don't have to grit our teeth. All it takes is a bit of courage, some learning - and in return one gets a few good years of real good work for a real good pay, and no principals to bully you. Look at me: I quit at the age of 54, took a technical writing course - and landed my first job at www.gilat.com raking in 10K a month right from the start. I lost this job after three happy years of being respected and appreciated - only to find a better one within a few days (see my profile at LinkedIn - http://il.linkedin.com/in/levabramov). Never looked back since. I wake up every morning and pinch myself: I just cannot believe my good luck. How many of you guys can be proud of feeling like that every morning?! There's a posting at the ETNI Ad Board (http://www.etni.org/phpbb/viewforum.php?f=8&sid=107a8e9c2d10af2af3c19c99703da57b) - Technical Writing Course - Beginner-Level, ONLINE, and another one - Online Technical Communication Training - a few weeks old) - go for it. It's never too late to make yourself a happy person again. Just imagine: no MOE. No principals. No papers to grade. NO PARENTS TO TALK TO! Real life. Real happiness.
