Dear All I completely support what has been posted both by Nina and Laurie. But how do we go about this? Clearly the English teachers specifically are overburdened and under remunerated. We do NOT stand in front of a class and dictate as do History and Tanach teachers. We do not use the same book every year as do the Math teachers (Benny Goren?) but have to prepare new material frequently. We do NOT have a set body of Material to teach which has not changed for the last 20 years. But we have to continually find new and refreshing ways of presenting Oral, Written texts. We are sinking. Look at any staff room in the country.I don't see how we can carry out the sanctions and also go ahead with oral testing , marking projects , and preparing kids for the impending Bagrut... There was supposed to be a boycott of courses but I know for a fact that the course in Jerusalem is going ahead. So what do we do NOW?? Nobody in the general public and even within the teaching world seems to have a clue about our plight! Concrete suggestions for a way ahead are in order.
