**** ETNI on the web http://www.etni.org.il http://www.etni.org ****

I agree with all the comments about the summer bagrut, especially the modular
one. Without mentioning any names, a bagrut grader told me that there was
tremendous tension, frustration and disagreement among several of the testers.
Apparently this was partly a result of the unwillingness to be flexible on the
answers to controversial questions. There were also others issues, such as the
requirement to check extremely large numbers of exams in a short time. I also
heard that many graders are afraid to complain about the situation because they
fear that they will lose their job as graders in the future.
What I do know, for a fact, is that a large number of teachers are extremely
frustrated and bitter about the summer bagrut. It's not enough to bemoan the
fact on etni and expect things to correct themselves.
There are avenues to take, like writing letters to the exam department in the
ministry of education and contacting the Irgun.
Come on teachers, take action. If no-one in the inspectorate is willing to
listen to teachers, it's time to act.

I honestly thought that, after the struggle and protests over the
implementation of the NBA and the tsvira model, the inspectorate would be more
flexible, especially in the light of the fact that this is the FIRST year of
the modular bagrut. It's not a sin to err, it's a sin to deny the fact that
there are mistakes and problems.
Come on Judy, answer us, explain what happened and try to reach a compromise
with all the frustrated teachers.

Nina
