I once had the pleasure of meeting Jules Verne. This was no small
accomplishment considering the fact that the author died a few months
before my father was born. The man I did meet (in Ramat Gan) was, in
fact, someone who sincerely thought he was Jules Verne. But he
adamantly refused to talk about his books, of which I had read more
than a few in English translation.
When I told my friends about this meeting, one of them was not
surprised. He said the explanation was obvious. Verne was
time-traveling and I met him before he had written the books that I
had read.
