without answering your question, i will ask one of my own - - why
iwould you want to work with 7th or 8th graders on unseens with
bagrut style questions?
i think that if you do a lot of reading of different genres
(articles, interviews, fiction of different types, poetry , drama -
did i miss anything?) and ask basic comprehension questions and
questions about deeper understanding (yes, LOTS and HOTS) and do a lot
of writing - they will develop good reading comp skills.
and then, in high school, they have the base on which to give them the
specific tips for the bagrut type questions.
