**** ETNI on the web http://www.etni.org.il http://www.etni.org **** Dear All, I would also like to add my two cents about how much I enjoyed this year's conference. I had the pleasure of attending several sessions which caused me to say "If this had been the only workshop I attended the whole conference was worth it". The organizers made sure that the choices very varried and suitable to many tastes, and one was given the opportunity for personal as well as professional enrichment. To all involved many thanks. (And if you have not sung "I am a Pizza" with Barry - you just don't know what you are missing!) The only thing that I felt was lacking was a response to the many questions about the new Bagrut modules. I realize that there were a few attempts and the constraints of time did not allow for as much interaction as many of us would like. I do think that these issues must be addressed and am greatful that this mailing list gives us a forum. I do think that the idea of modules is a good one, but it is beyond me why such an important exam has such a limited number of questions for the students to answer. I think that English teachers have always paved the way for new advances in teaching such as alternative assessment and student reflection. It is therefore difficult for me to accept that we do not give our students the option of choice in the format of this new testing method.I don't think that there is any other Bagrut exam that so limits the students in such a rigid framework. We are encouraged by the Ministry to consider our students various learning styles in our teaching. Is it so impossible to do the same in the official testing? Have a wonderful summer.
