Subject: I need some information if you will.......

Hi there

I am still developing a program and compiling materials for Elementary
?English as a Second Language? learners and hoping that you?ll be able
to help me.

I am aware that major publishers usually have guidelines on how many
words learners should learn according to each level. I understand that
most advanced children should have a range of vocabulary somewhere
between 2-3000 words.

Can you possibly tell me;

How many words are supposed to be learnt per level?

Are different uses of verbs (tenses) and adjectives (comparative,
superlative) counted as one base word or is each different usage
counted separately?

Are adverbs counted separately?

Any information that you can provide will be greatly appreciated and I
look forward to further correspondence with you.

Yours sincerely

Steve Martin

Ps. Could you please reply to startinz@xxxxxxxxx
