Dear Noami,
I have every issue of the ETAI Forum...every single issue...if we could find someone who was willing to scan them into PDF files, we could post them on the etai link...any volunteers?? (First issue, summer , 1990...and three times a year since then!)
Be in touch!

Subject: ETAI FORUM : Regarding Dr. Susan Holzman's introduction

I write the following as someone who might be called "addicted" to magazines
and as someone who has written in the past both for the ETAI FORUM and for
the ETNI RAG (once again I submit my apologies - I have been unable to "get
my act together" and write recently).
I believe that the two magazines should become one.
Consider the following:
1) It was a pleasure, as always, to receive the FORUM in the mail
recently. I agree completely that there is nothing like holding the magazine
in your hand, reading it wherever and whenever possible (such as while
waiting for your son at the orthodontist) and just the joy of turning pages.
A printed magazine is a pleasure.
2) Past articles in the FORUM are GONE. I remember reading a wonderful article by a teacher who compared teaching to the gym classes she took (I'd love to read that one again!). Who wrote it? Where is the article? How can I
share it with other teachers? As a "Madricha", if I think an article that
appeared in the ETNI RAG could be helpful all I have to do is give the link!
3) Articles in the ETNI RAG can be found by using a search engine. As
someone who writes about a subject which isn't of interest to many (English
for the hearing impaired) I realized the importance of this fact after the
first ETNI RAG went online. I received an email from a mother who had never
heard of ETAI or ETNI but simply searched using the key words "hearing
impaired" and "English" and found the article. Many of the wonderful pieces
I read on the FORUM would interest all sorts of people if they could find
them. I'm sure the wonderful pieces on ETNI RAG are enjoyed by many.
4) In the past the question of membership arose - one of the advantages
of being an ETAI member is that you receive the magazine. My suggestion is
that the online version of the magazine would only go up a month later, or
more.
5) Last, but far from least, the awesome people on both teams could
join forces!

There have been no comments on the list recently regarding either
publication. I wonder what the other ETNIANS think?

Enjoy the rest of your vacation!
