]re: working in more than one school.
Many years ago I reached the conclusion that it was physically impossible
for me to teach enough hours to get a decent salary, as well as do the job
properly and get some sleep. after a few years of trying to teach 5 or 6
classes and staying up nights to write and mark tests ,compositions etc. i
reached the conclusion that while my mother HAD to do slave labor ,
backbreaking work for 18 hours a day for the nazis, , I actually had a
choice. I chose to teach 4 classes, or three and yes only because my husband
has a well paying job can i afford to. The system definitely discriminates
against teachers and no way are we paid a living wage. If you are the sole
breadwinner it is impossible and you have to kill yourself to get it all
done. I also believe that historically teachers have been underpaid because
the vast majority were women and the authorities believed that they could
get away with it. and they continue toget away with it. can anything be
done. i dont know.
