Hi all, I'm happy about the switchover to CDs, simply because they are easier to deal with than cassettes, as far as longevity, finding a certain reading on the disk and so on. This, however, doesn't help our students find the means to play them. Diskmans are just as hard to find in stores as Walkmans. Everything nowadays in mp3 based. When the actual Bagrut comes around, they have to be ready with the proper equipment. ( I make sure far in advance that the students have the equipment needed.) As far as practice goes, I've come up with a nice solution; I use a program I downloaded for free called "My Mp3". I then use the program to record my voice using a microphone and the program saves it as an mp3 file. I then transfer the file to my cell phone. I bring the cell phone to class and then transmit the file over Bluetooth to the entire class of ld students who receive the file via their cell phones and can then listen to it in peace. This saves me tons of work as I don't have to make dozens of cassette copies or burn piles of disks. I highly recommend it. It may sound a little like something you would see on "24" but trust me, it's really easy.
