Subject: Books-for-Israel booth at the ETAI conference

Dear colleagues,

At the ETAI conference in Jerusalem we are planning to have a booth in
recognition of the amazing "Jade Bar Shalom Books for Israel Project".
Jade and her family worked tirelessly to collect books from communities
around the world and to distribute them to schools in Israel, thus
providing much appreciated reading material to Israeli school kids and,
at the same time, establishing lively and ongoing connections between
Israeli and worldwide communities.

Jade is, unfortunately, no longer able to continue this wonderful
project and therefore at the conference in Jerusalem we are planning to
express our recognition, admiration and thanks to this unbelievable
family. We are planning to demonstrate a mini-model at the summer
conference of the project which Jade and Ilan conducted on such a large
scale. Therefore, we ask teachers to bring to the conference any reading
books (not course books) which they do not need. Teachers who need or
want books for their school or kids can come to our booth and pick up
any books which interest them.

In addition, we are desperately looking for volunteers who might be
willing to take over or help with the project. Perhaps you know of
people, e.g., retirees, who could be interested in doing this extremely
gratifying job.

Any teachers who are prepared to help us on the days of the conference
would be most welcome. Please contact one of us. Also if you have other
ideas please let us know.

Hoping to hear from you.
