Announcing the Israel Translators Association annual Conference, Jerusalem February 7-9, 2006

The Israel Translators Association (ITA) has announced its 2006
Conference (Feb. 7-9, 2006), at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Jerusalem. Day 1 will concentrate on one specific topic, Localization. This is the adaptation of material for foreign markets and cultures. It applies particularly (but not only) to software. The topic goes far beyond just
translation.

The rest of the Conference is filled with goodies on almost every aspect of translation: technical, literary, financial, legal, language and
more. Speakers include Ruvik Rosenthal, Irit Linur, Gili Bar-Hillel (the translator of Harry Potter), Chaim Be'er and Dan Almagor. Localization Day is entirely in Hebrew, and the rest of the Conference
is evenly divided between English and Hebrew lectures. Celebrity lectures in Hebrew will also have simultaneous interpretation into English.
