Subject: changes in LD guidelines ..

This morning I read over all the new updates on anglit.net and...

The new LD guidelines have upset me. .. Sorry to disagree with you Nira
but, there are some kids who actually need both listening to a tape and
recording their answers and they have an extremely diffiicult time
functioning with two tape recorders (what is a tape recorder??) Maybe it's
a pain in the neck for the teachers but if the kids who need it don't get it
, they are being hurt and penalized unfairly. I would like to know if the
neutral tester has been abolished in the Hebrew tests. Does anyone know ??
If not, then in my opinion it is not fair that only in English the new
accommodation, which was implemented ONLY last spring should suddenly be
abandoned. It is not clear to me why it was changed so soon after it was
implemented and as a professional I would like to understand why changes are
made one day and then canceled the next. This confuses not only the
teachers but the pupils.

As for the new letter for the Oral exam (for requesting an Oral exam) , this
is definitely an improvement. But still in these troubled days of a strike I
find it hard to fathom yet another change . If the Winter bagrut is
canceled then my students who had neutral readers last Spring and who were
to complete their last module this winter will suffer and are being doubly
punished.

If a change has to be made (and I would like to know why) then it should be
implemented only for those students who were not given permission to get it
for the last exam.

Change is inevitable, but every year.. ??

Concerned , Aviva
