An excellent idea. A couple of months ago I had the idea of reading a story with my 12th grade 5-point class that I remembered reading in an old 9th grade book "Impressions" that we used for a number of years. the story was one by Mark Twain "Edward Mills and George Benson." In the text book it had been simplified for 9th graders. I was interested in the original. I googled it and within minutes had located and printed it out ready for photocopying for my class. No sweat and (I hope at least,) no copyright problems. David Graniewitz Jerusalem Subject: fw: short stories and poems on the Internet From: Veronica Foldes - verfol@xxxxxxxxx Hello to all, I would like to point out that an infinite variety of short stories and poems are to be found on the Internet and can be downloaded for free. If most students in your school have access to the Internet and a computer, each can download his own copy of the text. If not, the school can very cheaply put together a booklet of the texts and have the students pay for it. In other words, getting a new lit book each time.
