Hi All,
Menachem Vinegrad here
Its some time now since I posted on Etni- I'm doing other things now
as you will
see. I am semi-retired, though still teaching English  at Yeshiva
Tichonit Alonei Habashan, a couple of days a week
I still organize   Jacob's Ladder Festival along with Yehudit.
We have a wonderfully funny entertainer coming over for the December festival
(Yes its twice a year now): Christine Lavin, singer/songwriter , comedienne and
authoress from New York will be with us at Nof Ginosar 10-11th December-
exclusively at Jacob's Ladder.

I also compile and present weekly  folk radio broadcasts  on Radio Upper
Galilee.
Mostly the broadcasts are in hebrew , mixed with english, but occasionally I'll
do an entire broadcast in english.
This week's programme includes a wonderful banjo-driven rap by 91 year old Pete
Seeger "English is Cuh-Ray-Zee. I urge you to play it for your good classes-
in fact play them the whole show- there's some good stuff there. Use a simple
editing programme, such as Audacity or the like if you need to
present only the
one song.
If I get sufficient requests I will compile an entire programme in english, you
are welcome to make requests, either for songs representing countries, folk or
world genres, for specific songs ( if I have them) or for a mention for your
school or class.

If you really like a particular singer or song a simple google will put you in
touch with the artists. They appreciate the feedback . My pupils are still
talking about the contact we had with a singer last year.
