I discovered that Chabad has opened a site in which people are called upon to honor the memory of the Holtzbergs and the other victims of the Mumbai attack by "pledging a mitzvah". The site is in English, so this is a chance for your students to practice English by posting their "pledge". Students do not have to choose one of the mitzvahs from the drop down list. they can choose "other" and then specify any other mitzvah. Remember that mitzvahs include a whole host of topics pertaining to the way we behave - not to gossiping, not insulting others, not wasting materials in our world, returning lost objects, visiting the sick, etc. etc. Students can choose whether or not they want their pledge to be published. Please note that students are asked to submit an e-mail address and there is a box they have to UNCHECK if they don't want to start getting materials from Chabad. I think it's important to tell that clearly to your students - This is the url . http://www.chabad.org/special/campaigns/chabadindia/mitzvot_cdo/aid/773655/j ewish/What-Can-I-Do.htm ----------------------------------------------- Call for Articles The Etni Rag needs you ** Etni homepage - http://www.etni.org or - http://www.etni.org.il ** ** for help - ask@xxxxxxxx ** ** to post to this list - etni@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** -----------------------------------------------
