In reply to Louise below,
Have you ever wondered why the questions being asked on this forum are not
being answered by anyone in the Ministry's English Dept? We can be sure
they are reading these mails.

So not having any official answer, I'll give my take on this according to
what I've discussed with my Vaad rep at school:

Pedagogical meetings come at the expense of Shaot She'hia. That means, if
you teach 5 hours on a particular day and you need to spend 10 hours at
school meetings (yes, I know the numbers are much higher, but let's take
that as an example). Then you charge the shaot she'hia for 10 hours and do
not do any of the other activities that you usually do during those shaot
she'hia. (You can go home) If you do not have 10 hours of shaot she'hia
during that week, you simply carry them over to the next week. If you've
spent all of your shaot she'hia, then you might be able to charge your shaot
partaniot. I'll have to check that. You simply report the meetings as part
of the shaot partaniot (in any case you have to report what you've done in
each sha'ah partanit). Don't forget, though that if the meetings start at
1:00 and you have scheduled classes from 1-3 (for examples), then those
classes were cancelled and you can't charge for them.

If the above information is incorrect, then I'll be happy to be corrected by
anyone who has official answers.

Next point. How many of you have been given the facilities we were promised
in order to carry out our obligations - work stations where we can prepare
lessons, meet with students, etc? No one in our school has. Weren't we
promised that we would not have to stay the extra hours unless we were
provided with the physical means to do so?

Next week our school is holding its pedagogical meetings. The hours start
between 1:00 - 2:00 pm and end between 8:00-8:30pm. For most of us that
means a 12 hour day for at least a period of 3 days! Isn't that against the
Oz rules? Weren't school days supposed to end by 4:00 - including meetings?
