**** ETNI on the web http://www.etni.org.il http://www.etni.org **** Fellow teaachers, I wish to add my name to the list of those teachers who, after years of successfully preparing pupils for Bagrut exams, have found themselves stuttering excuses in light of the results of the module E exam in Yod Aleph, echoing the plaintive cry "What did I do wrong?" without finding any answer. Because there is no answer. We did nothing wrong. In general, I think we were all misled regarding the level and demands of the test. However, I am also curious about other teachers reactions to the following; after reviewing grades from both the seniors and the juniors, and without scientifically checking, my intuition tells me that the longer reading passage for the 12th graders made the passage easier to deal with than the almost identical, but shortened, module E text. Did the abridgement perhaps affect the pupils' ability to answer questions almost identical to those put on the 5 point exam? Does anyone have any thoughts on this issue?
