Dear Etniers (Etniens?) -

I really could use some advice from anyone who has taught 9th grade heterogeneous classes.

Up till now, in the 9th grade we have had 2 aleph classes and 2 bet. the aleph classes are VERY good, and almost all the kids there could pass the 4 point bagrut today with high grades. the bet classes are average bet, the kids are motivated and work nicely.

Starting soon, we have to redivide the classes into 4 heterogeneous classes. each class will have 60% kids from alef, and 40% kids from bet. These classes will have 4 weekly hours of English.

We will have "enrichment" (tigbur) lessons in the afternoons for the kids, these hours will be given according to the old division (groups for aleph and groups for bet.)

The heterogeneous classes use "Horizons".

I need ideas of what to do during the enrichment lessons. We will be able to use computers / internet some of the time.

Has anyone ever been in this situation? What did you teach?

I was thinking of doing projects (maybe some international project? ) with the aleph group. And with the bet group - maybe working with a literature book that would review grammar and different writing styles.

Thank you to anyone who can suggest any books / projects / ideas....
