came out. I don't know about you, but I can guess some of you are also working extremely hard and adding more paperwork is unrealistic. Just this week, I spent two nights at "yeshivot tziunim" until 8pm, another evening at an English hishtalmut (after a 7 hour day of teaching). Next Sunday, I teach for 6 hours, have a meeting during my hour of shehiya, followed by more teaching, then yeshivot tziunim which continue until 8pm but I'm leaving early for my 20 minute drive home in order to sit on the computer at home for the Matach on-line course on the iTest to help me prepare my students taking the oral bagrut from 8 - 10pm. That's working straight from 9 am until 10pm. WHEN and HOW am I supposed to start filling out more paperwork for students to get hakalot through regional committees? Yes, I know my students (after a few months), but I can tell you that EVERYONE will do better by getting hakraa and ignoring spelling mistakes. Who wouldn't? Who am I to assess if it's really necessary or they just really want it so they have more free time by not sitting and actually studying for a dictation? I know of some teachers who have already stated this has gone too far and plan to write to Judy to say - NO MORE. We can't do it. What about you? Me - I just want to be with my family for supper one night. Then, when I finish wading through another pile of papers and recording two tests, I'll find the time to write to Judy and say - I'm tired. I have enough on my plate and if you want me to teach, let me teach, not fill out more paperwork. I love teaching my students but filling out forms is beyond me with my workload and affecting the quality of my teaching. I got an earful from a 12th grade student this week when I couldn't guarantee I'd be able to test her orally (b/c there's no iTEST available for this) on the day of the test because there are three students in the class who need me to do the same for them. And this for a student for whom I spent hours testing and filling out forms last year to get her the oral exam which she needed. Aren't those forms enough? The FAQs in my house now are: When will we see you? And when you're home, when will you be awake enough to sit with us? Shabbat Shalom.
