why is it so important to get the translations exactly right? as a tester,
if a student said to me "i was a leader in the scouts" or "i was a guide in
the scouts", would that change his grade as long as i got the meaning? and
would he have to find out if i was american or british before deciding which
word to use in his oral exam? and if he said "i want to be an officer in the
army and head a battalion", or "a division" what difference would that make
to me as a tester? aren't we carrying things a bit too far and overloading
the kids with unnecessary terminology? better they should be able to speak
w/o basic grammar mistakes!
